Jurong Lake Gardens – Singapore

We decided to ride our bicycles from our home to Jurong to explore Jurong Lake Gardens since we saw many people sharing their photos of the newly redevelopment sites on social medias. Jurong wasn’t new to me; as one of my brothers has been staying at the area since I was in primary school. Eventhough, I did not grew up there, I have seen the development from a fishing village to what it is right now. The only thing that I might regret, was not having the pictures during that time to keep it as memories. Anyway, having a camera during that time, was not within my reach, so let’s do what I have right now. However, the memories of Jurong, especially Pasir Panjang, where my brother was actually staying in a coastal kampong house is still freshed on my mind. I still remember the first drive in cinema in Singapore at Yuan Ching Road, the old Japanese and Chinese Gardens, the old Jurong Stadium along Corporation Road, etc. Til today, my brother did not “go” out of Jurong and currently enjoying his golden years at Teban Gardens.

Routes taken – Yishun, Mandai Road, Woodlands Road, Choa Chu Kang Housing Estate PCN, Brickland Road, Bukit Batok Road, Jurong Town Hall Road, Boon Lay Way, Jurong Lake Gardens.

Since we were here in March 2021, there were many visitors at some popular photoshooting locations; so we avoid all these places for safety and health reasons.

Some informations from other websites.

Going back home, we decided to take the Coast-to-Coast Trails.
